Christa Clasgens
With over 12 years of fly fishing experience and 6 years as a professional guide, Christa Clasgens brings both passion and expertise to the water. Her journey to professional guiding began through volunteer events, where she discovered a deep love for teaching and sharing the sport she’s so passionate about.
In 2022, Clasgens made history by becoming the first woman to own and operate a fly fishing guide service in Ohiopyle State Park. Since then, she’s continued to lead with purpose, organizing and teaching numerous women’s clinics to help make fly fishing more accessible to and empowering for women of all skill levels.
At the 25th annual Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival, Clasgens will teach a class on targeting Great Lakes steelhead for our Beyond the Cast Women’s Fly Fishing Symposium.
Clasgens is an outgoing and inspiring young guide who enjoys sharing techniques, strategies, and stories that are sure to inspire anglers of all backgrounds. Whether she’s helping a client cast better or leading a class, Clasgens’ energy and commitment make her a standout in the fly fishing world. When not teaching, Clasgens will be in her booth promoting her business, Silver Hen Fly Company.
